XL, a community-based organization of video game and entertainment industry professionals, will today announce ‘Metasites’; a modular 3D internet framework leveraging metaverse, cloud, and AI technologies.
Funded with an initial $100M USD, XLA Metasites empowers users to transform virtual worlds by creating unique content. XLA Chief Product Officer Alexey Savchenko will be presenting the Metasites demo at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco this afternoon during a panel called “Emerging Approaches: What the Metaverse can teach us about Social Design and Narratives through Synthetic Media”. The presentation will reveal high fidelity Metasites graphics, core experience, instant access to systems in the cloud via browser, GPT-3.5 OpenAI integration empowering inactive characters and their behavior, IVEE virtual assistant, ability to analyze text semantically and generate 3D Scenes in UE5, and many other features. Metasites enable creators to deploy Unreal Engine 5 content and connect to an ecosystem of XLA features and services. “We call these Metasites, and the idea here is that each of these locations is part of an infinite 3D network, explorable space. Like hyperlinks, portals connect these worlds, and the core infrastructure operates on an open set of protocols and standards – just like the web today,” said Savchenko. “We firmly believe that the future of the internet is in 3D and are looking to partner with creators and brands from all fields and industries to build it together.” Access to Metasites for individual creators and enterprise clients will be based on a revenue-sharing model, giving each user complete control and management of their content. Users can access virtual assets and a variety of tools, including a versatile SDK, experience editors, inventory and item management systems, payment processing, marketing tools, and more. XLA also aims to provide seamlessly interoperable encounters related to digital items – with multiple functions connected to inventory objects in different environments. “What we created,” says Savchenko, “is the evolution of the internet and a new form of storytelling – writers creating a world that creates their own agency, presence and stories, accessible across multiple platforms. It’s not about bringing games to a new audience. It’s about making it easy to communicate, educate, trade, play and create while getting fair rewards for your actions.” Metasites will be disclosed at GDC at 4:40 p.m. PDT in Room 24, West Hall, Moscone Center, with Hexagram Founder and CEO Rob Auten. The framework is set for closed beta in summer 2023, with enterprise and creator programs opening in the following quarter and full commercial release expected in Q4 2023. About XLA Founded in February 2022, XLA builds innovative marketing integrations with digital items to align revenue sharing on the blockchain with partners. XLA adheres to a strong belief in decentralization and an honest internet economy that gives users complete creative freedom to build in whatever settings and styles they want, own their content and URL-based Metasites, and bear only processing, operational and platform costs. . Together with access to Metasites, XLA will provide users with access to a full suite of additional features and services, including a versatile SDK, experience editor, inventory and item management systems, payment processing, marketing tools, and more.
