The popularity of the Damus decentralized social app has led to the appearance of certain fake contracts pretending to be Damus tokens. PeckShield issued an alert today stating that 15 newly produced Damus counterfeit tokens have appeared in Ethereum Contracts and BNBChain. Apart from that, counterfeit Nostr tokens have also been observed on Ethereum.

Before PeckShield Damus himself had warned of the same problem. The decentralized network makes it clear that it has no tokens and will never have a future either.
Everyone who may have purchased $DAMUS tokens has undoubtedly fallen victim to a scam. Although it was not known at the time how extensive the damage had been, some people had fallen for the ruse.
