Post-apocalyptic survival game Resurgence joins ImmutableX

Emergent Games’ post-apocalyptic survival MMORPG revival is set to launch on ImmutableX.

Resurgence is the first project from Emergent Games. In a Medium post earlier this week, the company said it plans to release a gameplay demo later in the year. MMORPG stands for “massively multiplayer online role-playing game”, which is a type of video game that combines elements of a role-playing game (RPG) with multiple players.

The latest edition to ImmutableX comes after Tiny Colony’s announcement last week that it would be joining the chain from Solana.

An open world craft survival game, Awakening is set 1,000 years after a global ecological disaster. Players are tasked with becoming the new colonizer of Earth on a planet that is radically altered to form a new utopia.

To build a settlement, players must utilize the resources around them to develop survival, craft, collaboration, trading, weaponry, and technology skills. They also need to protect their precious resources from attacks by factions, predators and other threats.

Emergent Games is chaired by Simon Rutter, former Sony PlayStation EVP, while CCO Russ Harding spent nearly a decade as game director for Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe. His team of more than 60 developers and executives includes those who have worked on titles such as FIFA, NBA Online, The Sims, Need for Speed, Gran Turismo and Lord of the Rings.
