The creators of ChatGPT OpenAI plan to make more customization resources for its dense AI customer base to offer an overall enhanced service.
According to a Reuters report, OpenAI is looking to enable increased user customization for its ChatGPT chatbot. The creators of ChatGPT intend to release a tool that will give companies and individual users more control over popular AI systems. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the tool should also improve models for general and specific use cases. Speaking to investors at the Morgan Stanley conference, Altman also said OpenAI will build a platform that sells APIs to others.
Last month, OpenAI announced the development of a user-customizable chatbot upgrade to address artificial intelligence bias issues. At that time, Altman explained:
“We will be rolling out more things soon that give the user additional control over the system to behave this way or that way.”
Amidst its user customization plans, OpenAI is collaborating with enterprise clients to program its models in specific domains. The Microsoft-backed company has also reportedly reduced artificial intelligence hallucinations. AI hallucinations are incidents in which the conscious system surreptitiously issues false responses based on facts.
More about the OpenAI Customization Plan
Altman disclosed a global services partnership between OpenAI and management consulting firm Bain & Company. The collaboration will enable Bain to embed artificial intelligence into its clients’ operations.
Another use case may also see companies working with OpenAI using their data to render a copy of a model to mitigate data security concerns. For example, beverage giant Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) teamed up with OpenAI and Bain to implement the ChatGPT and DALL-E platforms. Coca-Cola seeks to use AI tools to create personalized ad copy, images and messages.
Meanwhile, Altman suggested that investors value OpenAI as a company capable of achieving a common artificial intelligence agenda. In addition, the veteran entrepreneur and investor also suggests increasing investor control over how AI platforms work.
Despite OpenAI’s ambitious plans, Altman admits that the San Francisco-based company’s AI systems cannot achieve 100% accuracy. However, the CEO of OpenAI also added that he expects applications such as AI doctor and AI lawyer to appear on people’s phones soon.
ChatGPT’s popularity has soared since its launch last November, with more than 1 billion visits to the site. At the turn of the year, chatbot traffic reached 616 million visits.
ChatGPT Plus
Following the success of CharGPT, OpenAI launched a pilot subscription plan called ChatGPT Plus in early February. With ChatGPT Plus, the company charges users $20 per month for a more reliable and fast service.
OpenAI February 1st Twitter post read:
“We are currently testing ChatGPT Plus, a subscription plan that offers faster response times and reliability during peak hours. And, of course, the ChatGPT free tier is still available.”
OpenAI also shows:
“We love our free users and will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT. By offering this subscription price, we can help support free access available to as many people as possible.”
The company says ChatGPT Plus is available to US-based users but will roll out to other regions soon.
