Activity will be releasing a documentary series focusing on the relationship between Sam Bankman-Fried and Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao, the FTX saga, as well as the developments that led to the crypto exchange’s sudden collapse.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Archie Gips, co-founders of the non-scripted film company Unrealistic Ideas, collaborated on the project with Fortune, a well-known media outlet.
Zhao and Bankman-Fried, who have been both allies and competitors in the industry, will be the subject of an in-depth examination in this documentary about their interpersonal relationship.
“I am very excited about this project because we have incredible access to the dynamic storytelling that is part of the ongoing drama between these two characters.” Stephen Levinson, executive producer at Unrealistic Ideas, said in a statement.
This documentary will provide a 360-degree analysis
Fortune Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell stated that this documentary will give viewers an immersive 360-degree look into the entire FTX saga, although some aspects of this story have already been covered in articles and on social media.
“It is an honor to join forces with Unrealistic Ideas and their acclaimed storytelling skills to bring this important story to life,” said Alyson.
The sudden collapse of FTX in November 2022 is a page of history, rocking the entire industry and dragging down crypto prices.
Zhao, however, was at the epicenter of the FTX fiasco. Binance’s CEO stated his intention to sell the company’s holdings in FTT, FTX’s native token, in November.
According to him, they make choices as part of “post exit risk management,” which was guided by information that appeared on FTX. Moreover, he continued, Binance will not support individuals who oppose other participants in the cryptocurrency industry. This statement triggered a significant bank run.
Changpeng Zhao also agreed to take part in the documentary, as do other industry leaders, to provide a comprehensive view of the relationship between Bankman-Fried and Zhao—the two crypto giants.
The story of SBF and CZ, as well as what really happened between the two entrepreneurs, has captured the imaginations of people inside and outside the crypto industry.
Still, it’s no surprise that major production companies want to make films and documentaries about it. Although the documentary’s release date is currently unknownmany members of the cryptocurrency community are excited about the concept and are looking forward to its launch.
