Tron founder Justin Sun just announced on Twitter the end of his ambassadorial term to Grenada on March 31.
Justin Sun is stepping down from Tron to take up the position of Grenada’s ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Recent reports suggest that Justin Sun may no longer work as ambassador to Grenada.
Sun is no longer Grenada’s ambassador
Sun tweeted that his term as ambassador ends on March 31. He announced his future professional ambitions stating his intention to rejoin the crypto space.
However, Sun will first delegate his ambassadorial responsibilities to his successor.
Crypto KOL intends to take a short break after shifting his responsibilities before returning to the cryptocurrency industry.
The Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN) reports that Justin Sun has been sacked previously.
The New National Party which gave Sun the ambassadorial post lost to the Democratic National Congress which won the general election in June 2022.
The Grenada government selected Sun to serve as the country’s permanent representative at the WTO in December 2021.
It has since emerged that Sun’s Twitter account contains the prefix ‘HE’, a symbol used for high-ranking officials or diplomats.
In his Tweet, Sun appeared grateful for the opportunity to work with the WTO.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all WTO members, our partners, our colleagues, and in particular to the WTO Director General, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala @NOIweala for their support and cooperation during my tenure.”

Controversy over Sun’s ambassadorial status
Recently, there has been controversy surrounding Justin Sun’s ambassadorial status, with many reports alleging crypto KOL is no longer a diplomat.
However, despite the rumours, Sun insisted he was still a diplomat for Grenada before accepting he had lost his position.
Sun shared a screenshot from March 31, claiming that he has an active profile as ambassador to Grenada on his World Trade Organization (WTO) internal registration page.
The Tron founder also provided a screenshot of the WTO’s internal website, identifying himself as the permanent ambassador of Grenada.
